Our new products include muffin liners that feature red, white and blue stars and stripes and on the bottom is Old Glory--waving. These liners are grease proof, peal easily and can even be used without a muffin pan-- Yup..they can stand alone on a baking sheet, making it possible to bake muffins 1 at a time or more then 12 at a time -- your baking sheet is the only limitation! To use these great muffin liners with no muffin pans, simply fill half-way == this creates a flat top, easy to decorate cake and eliminates washing those difficult muffin tins. BAKING FACTIOD: Just because they are called muffin cups or cupcake liners...does not make them a cup!! There are many sizes of liners from tiny (1 inch bottom x 1 inch high ) to giant (2 7/8 bottom, 2 1/2 inches high) --if you are looking for a perfect CUP make sure you know what size you need!

Chocolate Chip Cookies --OUR WAY

While there are 800 Gazilllion Recipes out there for Chocolate Chip Cookies. We too have our own twist and favorite method. Try our suggestions and see if you agree that this method makes a pretty good chocolate chip cookie.

We follow the original Nestle(R) Toll House (tm) cookie recipe with a few modifications to ingredients and method

Always use real butter.

Double Vanilla in recipe

After creaming butter, add eggs and sugar (3/4 c white, 3/4 c dark brown) and vanilla. Continue beating at high speed for 2-3 minutes. Mixture will have fluffy texture.

Add salt and baking soda and continue beating. Add flour, 1/4 cup at a time. Drop and bake..we love this method. Note: Because of prolonged mixing..this makes a softer cookie

Easter/Passover New Items

We just unpacked a few new items and thought you should know about them The spring celebrations are fast approaching..just after Saint Pats day on the 17th we move onto Passover on March 30 and Easter on April 4th. We restocked our Supreme Housewares line with more of their great melamine mixing bowls and cannister sets AND also added a few more party 'spreaders'. The two new sets include four spreaders. We have Easter Handles and Matzah Handles...Perfect for adding a touch of elegance or fun to your celebration.

FRESH STRAWBERRY JAM...now is the time!!

We are located in the Midwest but spent several years in sunny California. We lived close to Watsonville -- Home of those great BIG strawberries. We would stop at roadside stands and get sweet jumbo strawberries (some of them the size of a small apple) for $8 a flat. That's when my family got hooked on fresh strawberry Jam.

Our local SamsClub had the jumbo berries and within just a few hours I had 3 quarts, 4 pints, and 4-8 ounce jars of beautiful jam...and oh is it good. Oh, and since oranges are a terrific value right now I also did a few jars of marmelade!

One of the products we sell is a collapsible wide mouth funnel and I was more than impressed with it's performance. First and foremost it collapses...easy easy storage (I still can't figure out what I did with my old one!). This funnel works for all sizes of canning jars and the large lip catches spills and drips -- keeping the work area just a bit cleaner.
A detachable screen is included with the funnel- so it can be used as a filter when putting liquids into jars. Again I used our SimmerMat product--and for the first time had no burnt or scorched spots on my pan.

Look now for great berry prices from the west as well as great orange prices from several places and put back some preserves NOW!!

Passover, March 30 Easter, April 4th JUST A FEW WEEKS AWAY!

A liner is NOT a liner...
Do you use a slow cooker or an Electric Roaster? Have you tried a few liners and said, "well it helped clean-up a little" ?

We have found some of the best quality liners for these two valuable kitchen appliances. The PanSaver Slow Cooker Liner, our part LK0001-$2.99, may be a bit more expensive than some..but they are well worth the small difference. These liners are thick and sturdy. They come four to a pack and fit 3 to 6.5 quart round or oval slow cookers (crock pots(tm)) AND they are vesatile. They are also perfect to use in small baking dishes or roasting pans.

The PanSaver liners for 18 Quart Electric Roasters LK0003 are marked down to $2.99 for a 2 pack. This liner was once only available in bulk (100 or more) capacity to restaurants. PanSavers has met the challenge and we are now one of their proud retail outlets for the smaller quantities. We have trouble keeping this in stock..but they are wonderful.

And what about those OVEN liners?? We finally found a nice sturdy oven liner..like the ones that sell for $20 or more. We have them in stock LK0302 at the great price of $8.99 made by IMCG. This supplier also has the same type of liner for gas ranges. We tried it and like -- catches all those boil-overs and stuff flyin' out-a the pan. A set of 4 LK0304 sells for 12.95. They can be cut and shaped to various range tops.. even on my Dacor!

Finally, today, check out the ARIS(tm) SimmerMat Diffuser LK0300. This great little plate works with any burner -- stops those hotspot burns on your pans and can actually be used to do stove top slow cooking. Sells for $13.79

I personally tried all these products and think they are a valuable addition to any kitchen!
